The Gym

The Gym is run off passion and hard work, Hud & Maxine Russell have put 16 years and 12 years respectively of experience into creating “our perfect gym”.

Background:

Hud

An avid sportsman his whole life, Hud has trained in both football and cricket professionally in South Africa where he grew up. He decided to study Personal Training straight out of school and was accepted into the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, where one of his professors was internationally renowned Tim Noakes.

Maxine

Maxine is an exercise specialist, who is from Cape Town in South Africa which she dubs as, “One of the most beautiful cities in the world”. A professional ballet dancer for twelve years, which she loved,, she decided to pursue a more solid career in personal training. Striving to learn more and also keep fit, she decided to join a gym and from there it was ‘love at first squat’!

After a few personal training jobs in South Africa, Hud and Maxine travelled to Uganda where they helped set up a VIP gym using the knowledge they had learnt over the years in various gyms and combining their individual strengths. After Uganda they decided to move to Dubai. Finding success in their first job in Dubai over the coming years, they decided to create something of their own. Through passion, hard-work and drive they have built their dream together… The Gym!
