    We have witnessed the Sand and Kentish Plovers. These birds were spotted during our winter season, along with other species such as Osprey, Greater Flamingo, Marsh Harrier, Great White Egret, Spoonbill and Caspian Tern. The migratory birds land in our country from September to April. It is not a surprise but a fact that large flocks of Crab Plovers were seen here in this desert land.

    The Ras Al Khor sanctuary flamingos share the reserve, which is under the management of Dubai Municipality, that accommodate many birds just to name a few, marsh harriers, grey herons, eagles, ringed plovers, avocets, pintails, teal, kingfishers, spoonbills and snipe.  The colony at the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary do feed the migratory birds twice a day. The variety of migratory birds’ number is approaching to almost 200 species. This destination is a heaven to migratory birds due to its favourable e climatic conditions and because hunting is prohibited in this country.
